"Success for Life", an exciting new program being offered by Premier Assistive Canada, it will provide at-risk students with multiple opportunities for success and achievement.
Sydney, Nova Scotia (PRWEB) June 4, 2009 -- Premier Assistive Canada is pleased to announce the Success for the Future campaign which will be piloted in Ontario. With the Success for the Future campaign, Premier is offering a road map and the necessary tools for success and achievement to some of Ontario's most at-risk students.
With a reputation for creating award-winning, computer-based literacy software for people who struggle with reading and writing, Premier is turning their attention to students most at risk. Success for the Future is the brainchild of Dr. Steve Timmer, the creative force behind Premier Assistive Canada. "The success of Premier Assistive Canada has enabled us, as company, to give back to the communities that have supported us," says Dr. Timmer. "With the launch of the Success for the Future pilot, we hope to help students who are most at-risk turn literacy tools into lifestyle tools."
Premier has worked with many schools and shown many students who struggle with literacy how to succeed in today's high tech, high literacy world. Far too often, individuals who struggle with learning challenges are also impeded by other barriers that are not caused by their learning issues. Behavioral problems, extreme poverty and confrontations with the law, for example, can be all too common with these at-risk students. In Ontario, these students are categorized as Section 23 students and are often relegated to specific schools or isolated classrooms. These students frequently lack the resources to get the diagnosis they need to qualify for special services, and many do not fit into the traditional categories of learning disabilities. Their learning is inhibited by their environment as well as by their learning challenges.
With the Success for Life program, Premier will provide access to a complete suite of reading and writing tools to each Section 23 classroom with computer access in Ontario. Access will also be provided for those students who have computers at home. As part of their commitment to these students, Premier will also provide these same literacy tools via portable media to each and every Section 23 student upon their graduation from high school. In arming these students with literacy tools inside and outside of the classroom, Premier hopes to provide students with multiple opportunities to reach their full potential. With the Success for the Future campaign, Premier is committed to helping students to succeed in the classroom, to succeed in the workplace and to succeed in life.
